Who Can Apply Assam OBC Scholarship 2026
Category & Nationality: Must be an Indian national belonging to the OBC, EBC, or DNT category.
Income Limit: The total family income from all sources must not cross ₹2,50,000 per year.
Income Certificate: Needs to be submitted only once at the time of admission into a course.
Family Limits: A maximum of two boys from the same family can get the scholarship. This restriction does not apply to girls.
Reservations: At least 30% of scholarships are reserved for girls, and 5% for students with disabilities.
One Scholarship Only: Students cannot receive any other government scholarship at the same time. If offered another one, they must choose one and reject the other.
75% Attendance: Students must maintain at least 75% attendance, verified through an Aadhaar-based system, to receive payments.
Direct Payments (DBT): All scholarship money is sent directly to the bank account of the student or parent using the Aadhaar-linked Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

1. Pre-Matric Scholarship
➜ Eligible Classes : Class 9 and Class 10 only (Full-time).
➜ School/College Type : Government Schools only.
➜ Money Given : Fixed academic allowance of ₹4,000 per year.
➜Failing Class : If a student repeats a class, they cannot get the scholarship for that year again.
2. Post-Matric Scholarship
➜ Eligible Classes : Class 11, Class 12, ITI, Polytechnics, Graduate, PG, and Ph.D. degrees.
➜ School/College Type : Recognized Govt, Govt-aided, and Private institutions with valid AISHE/UDISE codes.
➜ Freeship Card : Yes. Allows students to take admission without paying tuition/hostel fees upfront.
➜ Money Given : Ranges from ₹5,000 to ₹20,000 per year depending on the course group.
➜ Failing a Class : No money for repeating a failed class, except for Group 1 Professional courses (1 failure allowed).
Post-Matric Money Breakdown (By Course Groups)
The Post-Matric money varies based on what you study:
➜ Group 1 (₹20,000/year): Degree & PG Professional courses (Medicine, Engineering, Management, Ph.D., CA, Law, Commercial Pilot).
➜ Group 2 (₹13,000/year): Other Professional Degrees/Diplomas (Pharmacy, Nursing, Hotel Management, ITI/Polytechnic after Class 12).
➜ Group 3 (₹8,000/year): Regular Graduation and PG degrees (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, M.A., M.Sc., etc.).
➜ Group 4 (₹5,000/year): Class 11 & 12, or ITI and Polytechnics joined directly after Class 10.
